Letters from the Internment Camp

Bismarck, North Dakota

At left is a letter that Anna Hayashi received from her husband, Harry.  Many had a 'Detained Alien Enemy Mail Examined' stamp.  That meant that the letters had been opened and censored before they were sent on to the family.

Harry also sent telegrams from the enemy alien camp at Fort Lincoln in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Harry was hospitalized while in the camp.  Below of some of his letters to Anna.  She did not receive all of them.
